Hi Matthew;
For some strange reason the application keeps dying during flights. It stops responding and when I try to close it I get the famous small little spinning circle and then I get the standard message "FSFOPro is not responding" and then it closes.
I just got the product about 2 weeks (after trying the Feeware) and now really using it. I have used it 3 times and it occurred on all 3 occasions.
1st. time it happened it was approximately 10 mins into the flight when climbing to Cruise altitude. I continued flying without it and just chalked it up to a glitch. Flight was from KSFO to KSEA
2nd. time about a little longer into the flight same thing, using the same flight.
3rd. time into cruising altitude, and so I restarted the application and it picked up from the cruising phase which is great however, it died again as I was into the descend and approach phase.
I am running FSX; Win 7 (Pro 64bit); FSUIPC V.4.974; NetFramesork4.8.
The add-ons I always us are 1) Active Sky 2016; 2)Rex4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds; 3) Pro-ATC-X.
I have "Force On Top" checked in the FSFO app as stated in the manual.
This occurs with and without voice activated. Not sure if there is a conflict somewhere which there shouldn't, you'll know better since you know the structure of the app.
Hopefully it's something we can resolve since this is a great product and would love to use it's great function for startup to shutdown (landing)
Thanks. WilliamC

Sorry for the delay, I've been moving the past week. Can you do me a favor and try to update your FSUIPC. You should be on 4.975; I updated the .dll a few weeks ago to prepare for MSFS compatibility. Also, can you past your .cfg file? Lets take a look at what settings you have. Again, sorry for the late reply. FSFO Pro is pretty flushed-out at this point so it's probably some odd anomaly we'll have to get worked out.

Hi Matthew; No worries at all, glad all is well and hope the move went well. I did update my FSUIPC to 4.975 and same issue, this time I couldn't get it start again, every time I tried to relaunch it, it would connect and then hang. Again, seems to be a contention somewhere but I could be wrong. As requested attached is my config file fsx.CFG (19.3 KB) Thanks. WilliamC

Hey, William,
My apologies for not being more clear, my friend. I wanted to get a peak at your FSFO cfg. Can you do me a few favors? First; uncheck auto voice on/off via the user config screen (3rd Column) and try your flight again. Next, would you mind telling me hat FSFO version you’re using? Do you have a mic plugged into your computer? Finally, don’t ever hesitate to email me if you don’t get an immediate response from this board. I included my personal email address within the app because I want this product to br affordable and well supported.

Hi Matthew; No worries, yeah I was wondering how my FSX config would help but thought about it after I sent my post. I have attached my QW config file. I am using FSFO 1.14. Yes I have a mic plugged into my computer. Since the problem occurred with both voice and button I just decided to continue using voice assuming if we get the issue resolved it would address both. I always put my mic on mute when I am not speaking so as not to confuse the copilot or App voice recco with any background noise such as ATC which I use. Something else I noticed that may or may not be relevant is, on more than 2 occasions the system (co-pilot) got stuck "hang" on reading out the V1, VR, V2 speeds during the Before Start Checklist. I will then have to request Before Start Checklist again (I will then see the message "XXXXXX (couldn't see the word) aborted." It will start the check list again and then the copilot will read the speeds out to completion. On all occasions I have waited for at least 30 seconds since I know it's getting the V-Speeds from the separate Brf file and not the FMC. I will uncheck the Voice AutoOn/Off and test again and report back. I will try and observe any specific pattern that may help in determining what might cause the issue. Let's see how things pan out after this round and if we need to get into more details debugging, we'll use email. qw787.cfg (362 B) Thanks again. Best Regards. WilliamC Attachments:qw787.cfg (362 B)

Thank you, William. I’m anxious to hear how your test flight went; I had a bug with the speech recognition that was causing crashes, which is why I asked you to to uncheck the auto voice setting. I thought we squashed that lil bug a few versions back. I’ll look into the v1, vr, and v2 hanging. To be honest; we dont have many FSX users; so, it’s possible a bug lingers. For now; you can evade this by unchecking the call numbers option via the user.cfg screen. I’ll have my development computer online this week and get things going again. I have a few more questions;
1. What version of windows are you using? 2, Are you using English language pack? 3. Are you using FSUIPC auto save feature?

Hi Matthew; So I was able to complete 2 flights to the end without crashing after un-checking the auto voice settings, so that seems to do the trick. Will continue to do additional flights and monitor it.
In terms of the hanging while the call out of the V speeds, no issue this time but it occurred reading out the MCP information and not the V speeds. It also hung twice on the Flight control check, I tried holding down the Ctrl Key but I guess it was too late since it didn't help. I restarted the checklist on both occasions and everything was fine. In the future I will just hold the Ctrl key at the beginning Flt Control check. It just seems that there is some timeout/communication issue with the QW interface; just putting on my "Software Engineering Hat."
My answers are below your questions.
1. What version of windows are you using? Win 7 SP2(Pro 64bit) 2, Are you using English language pack? Yes 3. Are you using FSUIPC auto save feature? No, I don't
Interesting enough I really don't fly the QW 787 I mostly fly the PMDG 747-8i, (which I love very much) but started getting into the QW to try the FSFO product.
Thanks again. WilliamC

WilliamC Thanks for trying that, William! I'm confident we found the issue and will add back to the bug list and get a fix for the next update. Again, I apologize for the delayed response and hope you find FSFO useful.

Hi Matthew;
Happy Holidays, hope you are doing very well.
So, I guess I spoke to early. Did some more testing subsequently and the problem still persist. It's not at any specific time, it's just random. It froze during the Taxi checklist and I was able to request the Checklist again and it restarted. However, on 4 other occasions it just hung (not responding) and then I just ends the application.
Interesting, I can tell when it's going to crash since the options disappear from the drop down FSX menu. Also I notice that there are substantial delays in repeating a command such are reading out the V speeds or confirming a request.
I updated to the latest FSUIPC as suggested but that didn't. Not quite sure what is going on again, I really don't use FSUIPC for anything and all of the add-on I use don't require it, I can actually disable it and my sim will run fine with all of my add-ons. So I am not sure it's a direct issue with FSUIPC as it relates to the app and QW 787.
Is the app requiring resources that's not there since I am running other apps? Is there a problem with the free version of FSUIPC which it shouldn't. Not knowing how your app works I am not sure if it's a problem interfacing with FSUIPC or a problem with the app itself.
I tried the FS2Crew for the QW787 and I have no issues with it, granted that it's on a different architecture platform from your app (it does not use FSUIPC) but directly integrated with the 787 via their own interface.
Again, I am at a lost as to what's going on, I tried it with and without voice and same problem.
Thanks again. Kindest Regards.
Williamc.

Happy Holidays, William!
Are you using FSUIPC save feature? It sounds like FSFO is having difficulties reading the QW787 LVARs; it also explains the randomness of your problems. Try without FSUIPC save function, which is notorious for causing issues in multiple add-ons...

Hi Matthew;
Thanks for your response (given the holidays), I appreciate it. I don't use the save function, that was one of the 1st questions you did ask when I initially reported the issue. The only thing I turned on was to display the VAS usage at the top of the FSX menu. Could that be causing an issue?

No, William. It's so odd; I haven't had any other issues regarding this aircraft. FSFO is clearly having issues reading your LVARs and I don't believe you're doing anything wrong. So, it's something unique to your system. I made a change to the .dll in v 1.15 to improve LVAR reading/time outs. I hope this solves the issue for you; I'll push via SimMarket sometime tomorrow. If this doesn't work, we'll work something out.
