FSFO installed. User profile built. "Save" pressed but information pops up as follows :- Access to path "C:\program files\Name\FSFO\user.cfg" is denied. Not quite sure what to do next to get the programme under way. Would appreciate your kind assistance. Michael/Leicester/UK

Just a shot in the dark, is your "user.cfg" read only? That would be why you cant save.

Hi Michael,
Try uninstalling and re-installing as the "administrator"...that should should solve your issue.

Hi Guys. Thanks for the help. I've now re-installed the programme as Administrator. I probably used the Administrator load the first time but just to be sure. Still the same pop-up though. In regard to my "User.cfg" I notice that the 'read only' box is checked but the tick is grayed-out. If I re-check this is becomes clear. Not tried the programme again yet as I wanted to let you know the outcome and await your further kind assistance.

Hi Michael, I think that should fix it. Try running FSFO and see what happens.

Michael,
If that doesn't work, try installing FSFO to a different directory. It doesn't have to be co-located with FSX/FS2004; it searches the registry to determine the location. BTW, what OS are you using? Vista?

Hi. Yes Vista. Ok so I have now re-installed to a different location but still get the message starting as --- "unhandled exception has occurred in your application" etc. Still unable to SAVE anything.

Mike,
Can you email me the debug.txt file inside your FSFO main directory? The only time I've encountered this issue was when I failed to install the app as an administrator. I am curious to determine the cause.
Also, we can try this:
1. Open notebook 2. Paste the following into it: [Options] dispatchmsg=1 // turns the dispatch manager on 1 on 0 off simrwy=0 //simulates runway braking action in snow etc on 1 on 0 off copilotice=1 // Copilot handles the ice controls 1 on 0 off copilotseatbelts=1 // Copilot handles seat belts on 1 on 0 off setautopilotagl=1200 //Copilot sets the feet at this AGL (ft) disautopilotagl=500 //Copilot disengages autopilot at this AGL (ft) disautothrottle=100 //Copilot disengages auto-throttle at this AGL (ft) bankanglewarn=30 //Bank angle warning if aircraft exceeds this angle gswarn=25 //Ground Speed Warning (MPH) chklistdelay=1000 //time delayed between checklist call and response (1000 is 1 sec) [Weather] //enter the path to your HiFi weather product wx=C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\AS2012\current_wx_snapshot.txt [Addons] //enter your addons syntacs is =Addon name=path to exe file add1=AS2012=C:\Program Files\HiFi\AS2012\AS2012_Exec.exe add2=RC4=C:\Program Files\rcv4x\rcv4.exe add3=VAFS5=C:\FSX\VAFS5\VAFS5.exe add4== add5== add6== add7== add8==
3. Name the file user.cfg 4. save to your FSFO main directory.

Mike,
I hope you're still following this thread. I think I have a work around as I was able to duplicate your issue, based on the log you sent me. Please do this:
1. Locate your FSFO directory (default is C:\Program Files\Default Company Name\FSFO) 2. Locate FSFO.exe (DO NOT USE THE SHORT CUT) 3. Right Click and select "Run As Administrator"
