Hi Matthew,
I'm making progress. The TOLD file I created seems to work. FSFO will auto load fuel, but not payload. Below is the Weight & Balance section of the aircraft.cfg for the MD-83 I'm using and my guinea pig. Can you see anything that would be preventing FSFO from loading payload for me? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Sidney

I think I see a problem with how I'm handling the "strings" from fsx/fs2004 aircraft.cfg file. Specifically, I'm parching the string according to Microsoft's ESB documentation. So, the .cfg file should look like this:
station_load.0 = 360, 67.6, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.1 = 563, 60, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.2 = 2252, 50, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.3 = 2816, 40, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.4 = 2816, 30, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.5 = 3520, 20, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.6 = 2816, 10, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.7 = 2816, 0, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.8 = 3520, -10, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.9 = 2088, 45.933, 0, -2 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.10 = 2076, 22.175, 0, -2 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.11 = 1993, -19, 0, -2 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet)
station_name.0 = "Cockpit" station_name.1 = "Cabin Zone A" station_name.2 = "Cabin Zone B" station_name.3 = "Cabin Zone C" station_name.4 = "Cabin Zone D" station_name.5 = "Cabin Zone E" station_name.6 = "Cabin Zone F" station_name.7 = "Cabin Zone G" station_name.8 = "Cabin Zone H" station_name.9 = "Fwd Cargo" station_name.10 = "Mid Cargo" station_name.11 = "Aft Cargo"
If you're willing, we could try a test. First, backup your aicraft.cfg file to a safe location!! Secondly, paste the section above over station_load.0 to station_load.11 data. Save the .cfg file and let me know if FSFO works now. If it does, I will alter the method for abstracting payload data.
The section should look like this now:
[weight_and_balance] max_gross_weight = 150500 empty_weight = 77976 reference_datum_position = 0, 0, 0 empty_weight_CG_position = 0, 0, 0 empty_weight_pitch_MOI = 1710869 empty_weight_roll_MOI = 410999 empty_weight_yaw_MOI = 1287982 empty_weight_coupled_MOI = 0
max_number_of_stations = 13
station_load.0 = 360, 67.6, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.1 = 563, 60, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.2 = 2252, 50, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.3 = 2816, 40, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.4 = 2816, 30, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.5 = 3520, 20, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.6 = 2816, 10, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.7 = 2816, 0, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.8 = 3520, -10, 0, 2.5 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.9 = 2088, 45.933, 0, -2 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.10 = 2076, 22.175, 0, -2 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet) station_load.11 = 1993, -19, 0, -2 //Weight (lbs), longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet)
station_name.0 = "Cockpit" station_name.1 = "Cabin Zone A" station_name.2 = "Cabin Zone B" station_name.3 = "Cabin Zone C" station_name.4 = "Cabin Zone D" station_name.5 = "Cabin Zone E" station_name.6 = "Cabin Zone F" station_name.7 = "Cabin Zone G" station_name.8 = "Cabin Zone H" station_name.9 = "Fwd Cargo" station_name.10 = "Mid Cargo" station_name.11 = "Aft Cargo"

Thanks for the speedy reply. I did as you suggested but it still doesn't work. The modified section of the aircraft.cgf is below. What I get in the FS9 paylode settings screen when I press the Load Payload button is 0 pounds in stations 1-11 and 1993 pounds in station 12.
BTW, this is no big deal, at least for me. I usually don't change the payload settings unless the plane has a configuration program that makes it easy to do. Most planes don't have this. The fuel loading works and that's more useful to me as the amount of fuel will pretty much always vary.

I tried the default 777 with the stock aircraft.cfg file. Same results. Fuel loads fine passengers & cargo not. I tried both both realistic load times and instant loading. I specified 357 passengers and a payload of 5546. After loading ACARS reports 151 passengers and a load of 5492. What shows up in the payload settings screen is 1993 lbs in station 12, zero in the rest.
Let me know if there are any files I can send that may be of use to you.

can you send a aircraft.cfg? This problem is related to FS2004 only...

Glad to help. Here's the aircraft.cfg I'm using for the aircraft I'm using for testing, an MD-83. I'm also attaching my FSFO aircraft profile so you can check it and see it if I entered some bad data that's causing the problem. MD-83.cfg (952 B) aircraft.cfg (13.33 KB)
